Local Republican Rally Numbers Foreshadowed Super Tuesday Results

Whether Republican or Democrat, everyone was welcome to attend both the Trump and Rubio rally. The rally weekend for Madison started with the Rubio rally on Saturday evening and ended with the Trump rally on Sunday afternoon.  Trump’s numbers at the rally hinted at his success on Super Tuesday.

There were more than 5,000 people who attended the Rubio rally at the Space and Rocket Center. That turnout was pretty alright, but it was nothing in comparison to Trump’s guess of 35,000 attendees at Madison City Stadium. Although Trump’s rally had more space for people to stand, there was only 1 portable potty on site.

Rubio’s rally had risers for fans to stand on and a nice background for Rubio’s media. You can view Paul Gattis’s article on the rally at AL.com. He described the schedule of the rally down to the minute.

According to Kristinn Taylor, a writer for the Gateway Pundit, Trump’s rally was a recipe for chaos and disaster. The stadium only seats 5,000. Trump rallied over 20,000 people, not including the supposed other 15,000 that he said were there in his speech. Whether the number was 20,000 or 35,000, Trump’s rally completely overpacked the stadium. The end result was trash and mud everywhere: on the field, in the stands, and even in the parking lot.
