In the last few years, we had our fair share of effortless dances. The dab started as a simple song, but is now spreading through locker rooms, homecomings and classrooms. Dabbing is a small arm movement, like you are protecting a cough. It is simple, easy, and it seems like the majority of the world loves it.

In late 2015 the Migos produced a song called ‘’Pipe it Up’’ in which they said “dab” repeatedly in the chorus. Now it’s their own pinged term said on every song.

Shad Moss, also known as Lil Bow Wow, recently came out with a video bashing the fandemonium because of its bad origin. He stated that the dance comes from smoking marijuana. Take a look here

The Migos now refer to themselves as the ‘’Dab Daddy’s,’’ having taken well-deserved credit for the new dance. It is still uncertain if the origin of the dance came from something bad or innocent, but the Dab Daddy’s consider the dance to be its own movement.

Many athletes have been scrutinized for doing the dance after scoring or making a tackle. The most controversy came after Cam Newton scored on the Tennessee Titans and then proceeded to dab in front of two players. The next day the Charlotte Observer home base was bombarded with angry emails.

Drew Mixon, a Bob Jones senior, stated, ‘’The dance is great because it’s easy and fun to do. It makes it look like you can dance when you really can’t.’’ Mixon predicted the dance will die down over the course of the month or so.

English teacher Ms. Roberts, known around Bob Jones for her dabbing at the school pep rally, said, ‘’I feel like the new dance is very simple compared to the ones back in the day.”

Maybe the next dance move will actually require some talent.
