We’re Back! What Now?

The dreaded day has finally come. After weeks of rest and relaxation, local stores hung the famous signs reading, “Back to School Shopping!”, and it was over. Yes, school has started again, but there is no reason to be upset! There are a variety of clubs and activities to get the school year started.

Open House was packed with people who were checking out the displays for clubs and organizations. Tables lined the cafeteria and stairwell, filled with information and achievements.

“First Priority,” Grace Palenapla said, “meets on Wednesday mornings every week. It’s basically a time where people can meet and come together while talking about their faith.” One student said that First Priority was her favorite club.

Another popular, but not as well-known club, is Destination Imagination. It consists of multiple challenges that require you to be creative and work efficiently in a group. Last year, a team from Bob Jones placed first globally! Kafui Sakyi-Addo explained that DI is extremely fun, although a lot of people don’t know what it really is.

Other clubs include Taekwondo, Crochet, Biology, Film and Animation, Lacrosse, National Honors Societies, Languages, and so many more. You could become a part of Patriot Pages itself!

Check the Bob Jones website to view more information about these clubs and others. Students should do their best to get involved. Not only is it fun, but clubs are great on a college application! With this many clubs, you’ll most definitely find one that suits you.
