The Bob Jones high school marching band is always at work. The band spends three days each week rehearsing their two shows. On Fridays they perform their football show during halftime, and on certain Saturdays, the competition band attends competitions at different schools.

The football band boasts the most people out of the two bands, and everybody in it attends the games on Friday nights. Certain people are then selected out of football band to perform in the competition show. These people that are selected show great attitude while at practice, meet the required skills, and are able to attend competitions on the weekends.

This year’s competition show is called Delivered and based on the historic event Pearl Harbor. The show is dedicated to those that have served in the armed forces and given their lives for their country. The band has already had some competitions this year. One competition was suppose to take place outside, but due to weather, it was moved indoors to a standstill performance. Many band members became upset about the event being brought indoors. Madeline Anne Cantsee commented,”I was upset, but I knew that we could get through it as a team.” The band came back home that night as Grand Champions.

On October 15th, the band had their second competition at Music City Invitational. They received 1st place color guard, 1st place percussion, and 1st place visual in prelims and passed onto finals where they received third place overall.

This upcoming Saturday the band will be traveling to the USBands West Georgia competition and competing.
