Varsity Boys Soccer Defeats the Jets

Your Bob Jones Patriots won 2-0 against the James Clemens Jets in a section game thriller. The student support was rowdy and we proved in small numbers, we can be just as loud as a big crowd.  The two goals were scored by Dominik McCauley(MVP), the first was scored 31 seconds into the second half. Coach Uwe Spiller said “We have one foot in the playoffs”, if JC slips up Thursday against Sparkman, Bob Jones will be a lock for the playoffs.

The intensity and passion was displayed throughout the game. The passion and intensity of the rivalry was shown on the field. There were multiple James Clemens players shedding tears after the game, or as we like to call it, “watering the grass.” The rivalry between the Bob Jones Patriots and the James Clemens Jets deepens every time any sports team steps on the field. .  It can range from the lesser known sports like the bowling team and to the bigger ones like football. The right to be claimed champion of Madison is ever growing in the city.

Soccer in the city of Madison is definitely on the rise. Due to the access of more soccer on television, more people have started to get interested in the sport. Bob Jones will play James Clemens again next Wednesday, so let’s cheer on our Bob Jones Patriots to solidify a playoff spot. Senior player #24 Akash Patel said, “Bob Jones came out with a great win last night. What made Bob Jones come out was we had heart. We put everything out there and at the end of the day won the game.”
