It’s that time of year again, Street Food Season.  Huntsville’s street food and food truck scene exploded over the last year, and it keeps getting bigger. Madison recently had its first food truck rally, and attendance was packed.  Here are some great local trucks you should make your way out to try:

  1. I Love Bacon

I Love Bacon is one popular food truck that travels all around the city. This particular food truck changes up its menu frequently to provide people with different varieties, but of course implied with bacon. This truck will be located in the Main Street Madison Food Truck Festival Friday April 1st, between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. Also, the truck will be traveling to Huntsville to 3200 Leeman Ferry Road Saturday April 2nd, from 6:30 to 9:30, swing by and grab a bite of happiness. As they say, “Happiness is knowing there is new food somewhere that you haven’t tried.”

  1. On-On Tacos

On-On Tacos is one food truck here in Madison that is known for their creative and fun Mexican food. This truck is located at 500 Lanier Road. The foods range from beans and rice to salmon tacos.

  1. Pinhook Provisions

Pinhook Provisions is a street food park launched in Downtown Huntsville. This food park is in Pinhook Creek, where you will find over twelve different venues featuring ample parking, climate controlled indoor/outdoor seating with festival style lighting, live music, and yard games with prizes.  Different food trucks frequent this location.

  1. Peppered Pig

Peppered Pig is a truck located off of South Parkway in Huntsville. Its known for unique sandwiches and burgers. When you stop by, you may get anything from a turnip green burger to a regular cheeseburger. This truck is only open for lunch between the hours of 10am to 3pm Monday through Friday.

Sophomore Peyton Uptain said, “I have never been to any food trucks here in Madison or any other food trucks throughout the city. However, I’d like visiting them sometime to try different foods, and I think they are really neat.”

Arron Grenier, a senior, said, “Tacos El Cazador makes good Mexican food at affordable prices.”  It’s a bus parked at the corner of Wall-Triana.  He added, “It would be cool to have a food truck visit Bob Jones as a special treat for seniors or maybe have several food trucks for the senior picnic.”

Senior Thomas Harper thought it would be great to have food trucks at all-day school events in which there aren’t many concessions.

It can be hard trying new things sometimes, but at the same time it’s fun and allows you to sample foods you might not otherwise try.
