Taekwondo is a martial art, generally meaning “the way of kicking and punching.” For those in the club, it’s more than trying to defend yourself from a stranger trying to take your purse in a sketchy looking alley.  The president of Taekwondo Club Jewoong Jeong said, “Taekwondo is not only learning how to kick or punch, but to learn how to be humble and respectful.”

Maybe you want to learn the stunning action moves shown in the movies, or maybe you want to get in a workout. Senior Gloria Chun said just in case she moves to a city, she wants to be like Batman. Sophomore Victoria Marsh said that “hanging out with friends and exercising“ is the most enjoyable thing that she is looking forward to while in Taekwondo Club.

Taekwondo is perfect for people to enjoy a friendly environment and encouraging place where they are able to learn and not be made fun of when out of their comfort zone.

Training is every Friday at 3:30 -4:30 with a fee of fifty dollars covering uniforms and additional items needed throughout the club, such as t-shirts and equipment.
