Creating self portraits takes time and patience to complete: from measuring the picture and expanding it to a bigger size, but drawing the image is the tricky task. Then on a final portrait, the artist applies a painted background and adds values to the traced face.
But here at Bob Jones, junior student Natalie Petrucka, astounded her peers with her amazing finish that made the project look easy. While the other students were working on the previous art projects, Natalie was well ahead of the game.
Art teacher, Mrs. Norton took photos of student’s faces for the self portrait and printed them out for the students to trace onto a bigger sheet of paper. It only took Natalie a few days to complete it.
Natalie said, “I like to be different and have variety from other people and create my own style. The teacher recommended a face to pose, and I was really inspired to add lots of color.”
This artwork is among many that define the pride of the Bob Jones art department.
