After a stressful school year, students and faculty are more than excited for the school year to end. Students are looking forward to the exciting summer activities. Where should you go?

 

Huntsville, Alabama: Brown Bear Canoe and Kayak Rental

Brown Bear is one of the best places to rent out canoes and kayaks while enjoying the amazing scenery of the Flint River.

Rental prices:

Canoes- $70

Tandems-$70 

Kayaks- $40  

Kids Kayaks- $25

 

Brownsboro, Alabama: N.A.C.K.

This is another option for kayaking the Flint River. Spend 3.5 hours float down the Flint at your own pace.

Rental prices:

$45 per person

Ages five and under–No charge

 

Madison, Alabama: Dublin Indoor and Outdoor Pool

Dublin’s public pools are the perfect place to hang out and have fun with your friends on a hot summer day. Dublin’s pool activities include water aerobics, lap swim, swim team, and free swim to the public!

Decatur, Alabama: Point Mallard

Point Mallard is a 500-acre water park known for America’s first large wave pool and high star ratings. Marley Goree, a high school student at Bob Jones, says that she loves going to Point Mallard, and her favorite attractions are going on the race water slides and the wave pool with her friends.

Alabama: Neighborhood Ponds and Lakes

One of the top-rated places for teens to enjoy during summer is at their local lake! Max Mcgee, a high school student at Bob Jones, says, “There is this crystal clear pond in my neighborhood that has a place to jump, and it’s fun to swim in there when it gets hot.” Be careful for alligators, as some neighborhoods have had alligator sightings.

Guntersville Lake is one of the cleanest and top-rated lakes in Alabama. Your family can spend the day at Guntersville on a boat with friends. You can enjoy the cool breeze going through your hair while looking at the beautiful lake and sunset.
