There are multiple fun places to go for Halloween. If you decide that one of the places you’d like to go is a haunted house, this article is for you. With Halloween closing in, it would be beneficial for you to know what haunted houses are in our vicinity. This is not a comprehensive list, but it’s a good starting point to plan your Halloween weekend.

“Escape House of Terror” has a staggering five-star rating. With it being near Redstone Arsenal and around 8-14 miles away, it is a reasonable drive for its rating and distance.

  • 2150 Leeman Ferry Circle Huntsville, AL 35801
  • Tickets for a group of 4 are $99.80
  • Every Friday and Saturday night through Halloween

Grace Hill Farms has “Zombie Paintball” in Athens. A little farther away, but it is different enough to catch people’s attention. You ride around in trucks and shoot zombies in a field.

  • 22611 Grace Hill Ln, Athens, AL 35614
  • Tickets start at $25
  • Every Friday and Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

“Arx Mortis” is the biggest nearby haunted house. It is about an hour away.

  • 4051 US-72, Killen, AL 35645
  • Tickets start at $25 and package tickets are available
  • Select dates through Halloween

There is also “Nyctophobia Haunted Attraction.” It’s about a two-hour drive to Fort Payne. Although if you’re really into haunted houses, then I think it might be worth the trip. WHNT described this as ” the full-contact haunted house is considered to be ‘one of the most intense’ attractions in our area.” Yikes.

  • 500 County Road 188 Fort Payne, AL 35967
  • Tickets are $15
  • After 7 p.m. every Saturday

If you are trying something new with haunted houses, I’d personally recommend the closer of those previously mentioned. Even if you do not like it, it is not like you drove a very long way just to get there. These are all worth checking out and not too far away.
