On June 13, 2024, Minecraft released an update called “Tricky Trials.” According to minecraft.net, the Tricky Trials update is mostly about the structure called The Trial Chambers. Each chamber holds items that work similarly to a monster spawner. When I first went into the game and saw the background and version, I was surprised and excited to look into it. I entered into a new world and checked my inventory as I always do for new updates. I saw some new items, and I said to myself, “What are these and what are they used for?” I looked in the mob egg’s section and saw some new mobs, The Bogged and the Breeze, that Minecraft added. The Bogged is a Minecraft skeleton covered in mushrooms and moss. The Breeze is a mob that can deflect arrows, and it has wind abilities.
Tricky Trials brought many new additions to the game. The update added a new structure, banners, paintings, armor trims, mobs, and crafting possibilities among other items. They made another crafting table that uses redstone, which is a cooler way of crafting your items. Armor trims allow you to creatively decorate your armor. Minecraft added the Trial Chamber structure filled with traps, mobs, and treasures.
With this update, Minecraft’s gameplay became harder because there are a lot more traps when trying to collect treasure or overpowered items (OP). The traps are really dangerous, so getting treasure there can be risky. The new mobs, the Bogged and the Breeze, have pretty interesting abilities that increase the player’s chances of dying. The Trial Chambers has some of the most valuable OP loot you can find, but it is tricky trying to obtain them.
Bob Jones Freshman Isaiah Roberts said, “Well, I thought it would be pretty cool for another dungeon to be added to MC (Minecraft), but when I heard they were adding The Mace, I was shocked. A weapon that can hit anything in just one hit? Oh Yeah Baby!” The Mace can kill any mob in one strike by falling from the sky and hitting the mob at the right time. The Mace can be used like a sword and not cause as much damage.
The Tricky Trials update is really awesome when you actually play it. You can discover and collect more OP items from the Trial Chambers. There will be a lot of traps, but it is still interesting to see how they improve Minecraft gameplay. This update is available on Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions.
