Have you ever wondered what it would be like to dine outside for lunch, every day?

Eating in peace and harmony while looking like a complete godess/god…

But instead you’re stuck inside…. In the middle of World War 3.

I think we can all admit that lunchtime at Bob Jones is the best time. That one special time to chill out a bit and enjoy food while talking to your friends or hanging by yourself. Everything is great until you start fighting to the death for just a chair with people at each others’ throats trying to find chairs to sit down at, or even a place to sit down, period.

Hey, I may be a freshman, but I can see that the lunchroom is starting to get a little, I don’t know… CROWDED.  I know, tragic.

But there’s a sacred place called… The Outside. It’s beautiful place where there’s Joy and Peace and SPACE. There’s only one problem.

You have to be a SENIOR.

Seniors are giving the privilege of eating outside. I got some input from students about their thoughts about how they feel about the outside situation. Most of the seniors and other students I interviewed, agreed with the outside situation.

“I feel, speaking as a senior, that it has been deemed as a reward of some kind for having endured nearly four years of this school, and that is how it should remain for underclassmen to look forward to. Overall it’s just something to accentuate the fact that you are a senior,” said George Graves, a current senior.

Other seniors had the same opinion about this.

Even some freshmen thought the same thing. Lily Hughes said, “I think it’s an appropriate privilege for them to have. They’ve survived this long in high school; they should be able to have that ability to feel set aside from the rest of the grades. Besides, it’s cold outside so I’m not too jealous.”

While I did have a lot of people, especially seniors, talk about how it was a fair right that they earned and deserved, there are some like Eva Yeager, a freshman, that said, “It’s kinda unfair.” Many other freshmen feel the same way.

Former Bob Jones student Keenan Vance once suggested that seniors should be able to leave campus for lunch as a  privilege. In my opinion, this would be a great idea so we could have more space in the lunch area while they have the option to eat away from school.

Even though it is a senior’s right, I still feel like we should allow things for everyone and not just for people who have been in the school longer than others.
