Class of 2016: GRADUATION HAS ARRIVED

Class of 2016, we’ve made it! Graduation will be held at the VBC Arena on May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. A mandatory rehearsal will start at 8:00 a.m. that same morning in the arena. After rehearsal, students will return back to the VBC at 5:30 p.m.

Girls must wear either a dress or slacks with navy, nude, or black shoes. White shoes are not acceptable. If the dress is longer than the robe, wear a dark dress. Guys must wear dark slacks with dark shoes, and a white button up with a tie. Sneakers, boots, jeans, blue shirts, flip flops or gum is not allowed. Also you can not decorate the top of your graduation cap.

To receive extra graduation tickets, students may give away tickets that will not be used to others who need them. The front desk also accepts any tickets not used, and will give them out to students who need them. For friends and family members who can not make it to graduation, it will be streamed online. The link will be available on the Madison City website.

As the last day of our high school career inches closer, we take the time to reflect on the senior class and what they will be doing after graduation. Some will go to college, others will go into the workforce, but wherever we decide to go we will always be a Patriot at heart.

Senior Javier Webster, who will be working over the summer then attending a university in the fall, said, “I am really nervous but also really excited about graduating.”

When senior Adam Finch was asked about how he felt about graduation, he simply replied, “Thanks be to God.” Adam plans on going to seminary school after high school.

Ben Gulley, another senior at Bob Jones, said that he is “excited yet worried about the real world.” Like many others, he will be going to UNA in the fall.

“I’m sad I’m going to be leaving everyone, but I am ready to start a new chapter in my life,” said Serena Bukovac.

“I am excited to move on to the next phase in my life,” senior Sara Cobb said.
