National Signing Day 2017

Morgan Hargrove, Writer

Every year, on February 1st, is National Signing Day. All across the nation, senior athletes are chosen by colleges to sign for scholarships and participate their athletic programs. Out of over a million students, about 73,000 are picked. That’s a 6% chance!

Today, a full gym watched as five students were all signed into different colleges. Brad Anderson (MTSU), A.J. Harris (University of Mississippi), Brady Polson (Carson Newman University), Tucker Walters (University of North Alabama), and Kendall Randolph (University of Alabama) were given the change to play football at their respective colleges.

“All 5 young men are outstanding student athletes,” Coach Rose explained. These students have worked extremely hard throughout their high school lives, and their work is being paid off. It’s an honor to have Bob Jones represented through dedication and determination.

Coach Tiggs also commented, “We are very proud of our young men representing Bob Jones and being able to fulfill their dreams.”

After lots of thanks to families, teachers, friends, and coaches, and a bit of tears, our seniors signed off to their next stage of life. We wish them luck and good fortune in the upcoming future.
