Fundamentals of Information Security Attend “Cyber Bytes” Consortium

The Bob Jones Fundamentals of Information Security class took a field trip to the I2C Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville to participate in a discussion on Cybersecurity in Space.  Dr. Jacob Oakley, who penned three books on cybersecurity, spoke of the risks and preventative measures taken to ensure data communications between satellites and other space technologies.  He gave an example of a risk in simply charging a cell phone to a computing device can indirectly lead to a security breach in satellite communications. The students participated in a question and answer session and were given a tour of the virtual labs that were used to simulate river qualities and how breaches can affect dams.

Students interested in learning more about this field should consider registering for the Fundamentals of Information Security class.
