Champions of Science: Winners of the Science Olympiad

Congratulations to the BJHS Science Olympiad Team for winning 3rd place at the state competition!

Hosted at Auburn University this past Saturday, they competed against 15 other schools who won top three in the five regional competitions that took place across the state. Overall, BJHS won third place with James Clemens winning second and Auburn continuing their 1st pace winning streak. Having made it this far, Mrs. Teare has hope that next year is the year they beat Auburn and move on to nationals for the first time in Bob Jones history. “The goal next year is to break Auburn High School’s winning streak,” she said.

At their Regional competition, Bob Jones won 1st place overall which allowed them to advance to the State Competition. Placing in every category, each student who participated outperformed their fellow competitors.

On an additional note, Mrs. Teare also sponsors the Science Academy. Those students volunteer their time to hold science classes for 4th and 5th graders every two weeks throughout the school year. On April 2nd they will be hosting a Science Challenge for 3rd through 5th graders.
