On the 26th of February, 2025, Bob Jones AFJROTC cadets visited the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to learn more about space exploration and aviation. Cadets were split into three groups and given a tour of the facilities. They visited the Saturn V Museum, the Davidson Center, and even the training areas for the Space Camp and Space Academy trainees. Attending cadets also had the opportunity to ride the G-Force Ride, which is a ride designed to simulate up to 3 Gs of force on the body of a rider. Then, they were taken to a lab hosted especially for the unit, mostly going over water filtration in space, as well as how astronauts manage their usage of water on the ISS(International Space Station). Afterwards, cadets were taken to eat at the Mars Grill and then to the Intuitive Planetarium, where they were shown an interactive film about the solar system. Finally, all of the groups make their way through the gift shop, purchasing trinkets or other items before getting on the bus and going back to school. Overall, the trip was excellent, especially due to the welcoming and helpful staff of the Space & Rocket Center.
