The Bob Jones High School AFJROTC Honor Guard patriotically presented the colors during Military Appreciation Night at the Bob Jones vs. Sparkman High School football game. This annual event serves as tribute to the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve, in the United States Armed Forces.
During the halftime show, cadets marched onto the field in formation, each bearing a flag that represented one of the six branches of the U.S. military: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard. Their display of the branches was a solemn and inspiring reminder to the spectators of the sacrifices, hard work, and dedication made by each service member across generations. The crowd responded with applause and created a moment of humanity and gratitude.
After the game, the AFJROTC Cadet Corps continued its service by conducting stadium cleanup. Cadets moved through the stands, bleachers, areas around concession stands, and even the turf field to ensure the stadium was clean and left the way it was before.
Throughout the evening, cadets exemplified the JROTC mission statement: To develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. Their actions not only honored those who have worn the uniform but also demonstrated a living commitment to service, respect, and civic duty. Looking ahead, Cadets of the AL-20021 Corps are excited in their goal to serve the community and make a positive impact wherever possible.
