The future of Bob Jones basketball is bright for junior guard Ralph Templeton. He dedicates himself to his game. He wakes up every morning and shoots jump shots in the dark. He feels if you can shoot in the dark then you can shoot with the lights on. Although they are having a tough season he feels they can turn it around. He wants the senior on the team to go out with a state title. I caught up with Ralph himself for a few questions.
Q: What inspired you to play basketball?
Ralph: My pops played in college, and I wanted to be like him.
Q: Do you plan on playing basketball in college, and if so, where?
Ralph: Yeah, I plan on going to college… I’m interested in any school that offers me a scholarship.
Q: Is there an athlete you model your game after?
Ralph: Yes, a rookie in the NBA by the name of Damion Lillard. He pushes the ball in transition, and he pulls up for three in transition as well. He is also quick and not too tall… like me. He can also pass the ball. I have studied him in college and even when he was in high school.
Q: What is the song that gets you ready to play before a game?
Ralph: I like to start listening to Lil’ Boosie and Ace Hood and then finish it off with some Weekend and Lauryn Hill to relax and keep calm.
Q: Who do you look forward to playing against?
Ralph: The team I most look forward to playing this year is Johnson High because they are a good team, and they have a lot of players I am familiar with. I believe it would be a great game.
