On Saturday, December 14th, the 27th Annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game will be played in Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl. Senior linebackers, Dylan Haraway and Nick Holman, were both chosen to represent Team Alabama. “I woke up the morning after they announced the rosters. I rolled over and looked at my phone and had tons of texts, ranging from ‘Are you kidding me?!’ to ‘I love you,'” said Haraway. Forty players were chosen from both Alabama and Mississippi.
Haraway remains undecided about a possible college football career. Nevertheless, he is focused on finishing his Bob Jones career with a bang. “It’s devastating not being able to put the Bob Jones jersey on again, but getting to represent my school on statewide television for my last high school football game is an unbelievable honor. I’ll never forget it.”
For Nick Holman, the All-Star game gives him another opportunity to showcase his talents on the high school level before advancing to the collegiate level. Holman, a three-star recruit, will be attending the University of South Florida in the Fall of 2014. “Every time I play, I have something to prove. We (Holman and Haraway) owe it to all of Alabama, Region 8, and Bob Jones to perform well,” said Holman.
Coach Bryan Styles, who is the defensive coordinator for Bob Jones, spoke on their departure and selection honors. “We are certainly going to miss Dylan and Nick. Their leadership was remarkable and helped keep our young players focused. They’re hard-working individuals and are much deserving of the opportunity to play on Saturday.”
Tickets are $10 each and free for kids 5 and under. More information about this game can be found on http://www.al-msallstarfootball.com/Home.aspx.
