Homecoming game week… Normally schools will play an easy team on Homecoming week. We play Florence;  we lost to them in 2014 and won 2015.

After surveying a class of 22 students, most predict Bob Jones with the win with a score of 40-16. Rylee Snyder, a freshman, believes the score will be a “Blow Out.”

Currently, Florence has a record of 1-4and BJHS has a record of 4-1. Last year Bob Jones beat Florence (24-48). With it being Homecoming week, the football players are going to have high expectations. They can meet those standards, but they could get distracted by them and slip up as well.

According to Florence’s roster, their middle linebacker is 6’2 and 255lb and is signing to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He’s the only senior that is signing to a Division I school so far. Based off their previous scores, the defense doesn’t seem the greatest, but the offense can compete and get some points on the board.

For the most part, the BJ offense executes well during games. The Defense has some grade-A linebackers and a formidable D-line; this combined with a good backfield should keep the Florence offense in check.

During halftime, the Homecoming court will be announced, and the Homecoming dance will take place on Saturday. Freshman football player Deandre Smith said, “The game is more important to me as a football player than other homecoming activities.”

Football is the reason for all the other activities, so be at the Madison City Stadium to support our team. Tickets can be bought during lunch or at the gate. Kickoff is at 7:00PM. It is going to be hot, so be sure to stay hydrated.
