Meet Mudia Ikoba, a senior here at Bob Jones, and a player on the Bob Jones girls soccer team, along with being the co-captain of her club team.

With the soccer season on the rise, juggling all aspects of life can become quite the challenge, but Ikoba manages to balance all her priorities, along with exceeding expectations. Not only does she find time to finish all assignments, but she is also in multiple clubs, including NHS, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. Along with clubs, she also makes an effort to volunteer in the community, saying, “I volunteered this summer at Crestwood Medical Center for fun, and I helped out with Vacation Bible School at my church. If I somehow have free time, I just might read a book.”

She has many different methods and support systems that help her maintain her motivation. “My faith motivates me to strive to be the best version of myself which helps me not only to push myself physically but also keep an encouraging attitude to my teammates too.” Her faith, although being a crucial aspect of he life, isn’t the only way she finds this motivation within her. “Each of my other 7 immediate family members support me in their own special ways, and I’d love to be a sister/daughter that they’re proud of.”

In the future, Ikoba wishes to work in the medical field and to improve the quality of life of her patients and really every other person she comes in contact with. Keeping her goals in mind, she maintains her determination from soccer and will use that passion to pursue her career down the line. Although she doesn’t want to go into collegiate soccer, she will keep the game in her heart and play either as a walk-on or just for an intramural team.
