Recently, the Bob Jones indoor track team traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex to participate in the Last Chance Invitational Meet. Senior John Murray participated in the decathlon and won. He even earnest 1st place in the nation in this event. Other athletes also pushed themselves to qualify for the state meet.

The following week, the team competed at state. Our team events did well. Our 4X200-meter team earned a 7th place finish, and this team consisted of Faith Mason, Mercedes Zich, Frances Knight, and Jayden Gilbert. Also, the 4X800-meter team picked up a 7th place finish as well, and this team consisted of Hannah Thuss, Jillian Pennell, Ebba Detulleo, and Arienna Coe.

Individually, the team also picked up some big wins. Senior Jayden Gilbert competed in high jump; she placed 1st in the state and even set a record. Hannah Thuss ran the 1600m, coming in 8th. James Garrison ran the 1600m, coming in 6th. John Murray racked up several state awards in various event: 3rd place in high jump, 4th in 60-meter hurdles, and 7th in long jump. Jehan King came in 8th in shot put.

Our team was very competitive and worked hard this indoor season. Spring track will begin soon.
