From 2-5 May, 2025, the Bob Jones AFJROTC Drill and Fitness Teams went down to Daytona, Florida, to compete in Nationals. Attending were 38 outstanding cadets from the Drill and Fitness Teams, as well as several amazing parents and instructors. The teams departed BJHS at 4:00 am on Thursday and returned at 6:00 pm the following Monday.
There were 23 Fitness Team members and 15 Drill Team members. The Fitness team competed in pull-ups, broad jumps, ball throws, a 3K team run on the beach, and a timed obstacle course. The fitness team competed indoors and on the beach in very pleasant Florida weather. The Drill Team competed in Unarmed Regulation, Unarmed Inspection, and Unarmed Color Guard at the Ocean Center.
This was the last competition of the year for both drill and fitness. A special recognition was given to the 10 attending seniors – Seth Hernandez, Gary Stephenson, Charlotte Droege, Rachel Parnell, David Peterson, Mason Puhalovic, Trey Schiber, Gyan Bhagat, Brandon Nakamura, and Kuan He. Maj Lacey and Chief Master Sergeant Ellis Clark wished the seniors the best in their future endeavors.
