Winter is right around the corner, and many new styles are coming with it. A popular trend happening right now is jeggings, a mixture of jeans and leggings. The trend is getting the attention of the dress code enforcers.
Many students have been saying that jeggings are banned from school. Dr. Finley wants to clear this misconception up. “Jeggings are not being banned; they just have to be in consistency with the dress code.”
Dr. Finley stated as long as they have pockets and seams down the side, they are fine. She encouraged Bob Jones students to wear them as long as they are appropriate. “The fall fashions are great, and we want our girls to enjoy and have fun with what they wear. For many, it’s about being creative with color, layers, and certainly boots.”
The students, however, see nothing wrong with jeggings. “I really don’t see a big deal. They’re more comfy, and it’s a nice style,” stated Emiko Higman, a Bob Jones senior. Other students are not affected at all by the jeggings frenzy. “I have no intentions on wearing jeggings,” stated Kayla Wilson.
Whether or not students decide to wear jeggings is their decision, but Dr. Finley warned, “A few students pushing the limits could make a simple situation more difficult.”
With that being said, wear them smartly, not provocatively.
