From the time they zip up their boots to when they first step out on the field, the Patriettes’ many different personalities shine brighter than their shimmery costumes. The Bob Jones Dance Team, the Patriettes, performed in their first halftime show with the marching band on Saturday, August 24th at the Bob Jones vs. Enterprise game in Montgomery. Putting in almost 20 hours a week at practice prepares them for all of their upcoming performances. Their hard work and dedication promises an amazing season ahead.
The tight bond of friendship and camraderae between all 20 girls makes their team even stronger. “We’re more than just a team, we’re like a family,” said Anne Nelson, junior Patriette. With the help of their coach, Sara Lester, they have created an outstanding reputation as one of the best dance teams in the state of Alabama. Their motivation has helped them win first place at numerous band competitions, but it doesn’t stop there. In just 4 short months the Patriettes will be taking exclusive classes from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders themselves.
