Save the date! A College Fair and Open House starts January 18, 2018, at Bob Jones High School. The College Fair starts at 4:30 and ends at 6:30 and will feature in-state schools like Alabama University, University of Alabama in Huntsville, Auburn University, and Montevallo University; out of state schools include Mississippi University, Saint Louis University, and VA Tech.

“Juniors are in the best place to benefit,” said Ms. Kathryn Champion, College and Career Advisor. “It’s a great way to build connections beyond just online research and visits, and it provides a great perspective from those who may have gone to that college.”

During the fair special interest sessions will occur at 5 and 5:30 about financial aid and military benefits. The financial aid portion will cover a brief scholarship introduction and will include FAFSA information. The military benefits session will provide information about government benefits available to those who have served and their family members and how to find offers in different colleges on their websites and administration.

At 6:15 there will be a PTSA meeting in the auditorium followed by an Open House starting at 6:30. The Open House will not have a set schedule scheduling, but it will be a meet-and-greet so that parents can meet with teachers.
