While Bob Jones prepares for its first completely integrated week, we are also gearing up for Spirit Week and Homecoming 2020! The football game facing off against Austin High School will be held at the Madison City Stadium on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm. Though it will look a little different this year, we are still having a Homecoming Parade on October 22nd; line-up for the parade will begin at 4:30 and the parade itself will start at 5:30. As per the instruction of the Madison Police Department, there will NOT be any candy thrown during the parade. Masks and social distancing are required at all times, and this student permission form must be filled out for all participants. Line-up starts at Portal Lane if you are planning to be in the parade; you can’t enter through Hughes.

As for Homecoming Court, the king and queen will be announced at the Austin football game, so stay tuned! The SGA has worked extremely hard to make sure that Spirit Week is accessible and that everyone can participate easily, whether they’re going to school in person or virtually. Here are the dress-up days for Spirit Week, October 19th-23rd:

  • Monday: Jersey Day
  • Tuesday: Decade Day (9th Babies, 10th Tweens, 11th Midlife Crisis, 12th Senior Citizen)
  • Wednesday: Neon Day
  • Thursday: Around the World (9th French, 10th Western, 11th Hawaiian, 12th Greek)
  • Friday: Patriotic Day (wear red, white, and blue to support our team)
