RFCU: Work at School?!

RFCU: Work at School?!

Imagine a life where you don’t have to go to work after school but could work during school hours. Free evenings sound nice? Well, do I have something to tell you… The Bob Jones Redstone Federal Credit Union (RFCU) is currently accepting applications for Juniors and Seniors attending Bob Jones. Applications are due May 6, so apply ASAP.

Students who are accepted will receive real training and experience working at a bank because they become real Redstone Federal Credit Union employees. In addition, students who enroll will have training throughout the summer, which they are also paid for. For those that are accepted, they will receive up to four credits and be enrolled in career tech courses.

It provides a great opportunity for students to learn banking skills and how to handle money. Students would be working during the third block. This is a 1-2 year commitment depending on your grade. Working at Redstone will allow students the chance to gain real-world work experience and still time to do other extracurricular activities.

Taelor Miles, a Bob Jones student, also shared this practical advantage of work at the school bank: “Being able to make money without using too much gas.” Gas has become so expensive in the past year that this is indeed an advantage.

Most importantly, students chosen to be RFCU employees will be able to learn skills and discipline that will help students in life and on their resumes.
