Exams for Dummies Like Myself (Tips & Tricks)

Ah, exams… Exams can be passed with just a hint of discipline. One of the hardships most of us encounter is procrastination, which is the act of postponing or stalling an important task. To avoid this issue, you can limit the privileges and distractions. And then after test completion, you can reobtain them as a reward.

Another issue that one might face is lack of sleep. A lot of people like myself love to surf the internet and whatnot at like 2:32 a.m. Consequently, you will have trouble focusing and concentrating, impacting your exam performance. There are a few ways to achieve better sleep such as creating a screen limit for your devices or giving yourself an earlier bedtime.

Surprisingly, another tip is to exercise. According to HelpGuide.org, “Physical activity immediately boosts the brain’s dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels—all of which affect focus and attention.” Whenever I have trouble wrapping my mind around a certain topic or problem, I usually randomly figure it out during track practice.

Hopefully, you have been organized with your notes or study guides, and you can review those in the days leading up to the exams. If you don’t have the best notes, consider joining a study group.

We must discipline ourselves to succeed in our goals. Practicing discipline will help set boundaries so you do not stray away from the road to success. Hopefully, these tips and tricks will aid you!
