This past weekend, on February 15, the Bob Jones “Blue Knights” Air Force JROTC award-winning Drill Team showcased their exceptional talent at Hazel Green High School. The team arrived prepared for a demanding day filled with intricate and precise performances executed with such sharpness that few teams could match their level of excellence. Impressing the judges, the Blue Knights achieved near-perfect scores and brought home many trophies.
The team delivered outstanding performances across multiple categories, securing six trophies in total. They earned 1st place in:
- Armed Regulation Squad, led by C/Charlotte Droege
- New Cadet Routine, led by C/Edward Lee
- Unarmed Regulation Flight, led by C/Anthony Rivera
- Unarmed Regulation Squad, led by C/Anthony Rivera
Additionally, they took 2nd place in:
- Unarmed Color Guard, led by C/Charlotte Droege
- Personnel Inspection, led by C/Anthony Rivera
A standout moment of the competition was the first-year drillers, or “New Cadet Squad,” commanded by freshman Edward Lee, who led his team to a 1st place victory, continuing the proud tradition of the New Cadet Squad bringing home the top trophy.

Beyond the trophies, the competition was a testament to the team’s years and months of dedication and hard work. C/Anthony Rivera, who received an individual award, reflected on the team’s performance:
“The team gave 100% every time we went out there. I’m absolutely amazed by our performance, and I believed in every single one of us!”
AFJROTC Instructor CMSgt Ellis Clark also praised the team, stating:
“Our folks did a fantastic job. And Cadet Lee stayed in good tradition by bringing home a first place in the New Cadets.”
In short, the Blue Knights Drill Team dominated the competition, leaving judges and spectators in awe of their unmatched skill and precision. They didn’t just compete, they owned the floor!
