Among all of the great dessert joints out in Alabama today the Zen-beri dessert lounge is one of the best around. Located in the Target Shopping Center, it is in the ideal spot for someone to share a nice dessert with friends or family. Open since March of 2012 the frozen yogurt shop seems to be one of Madison’s favorites. Surrounded by many restaurants and clothing stores it makes it that much easier for someone to shop, eat, and enjoy life just a little bit more. Once inside, customers get a good look at the colorful trippy atmosphere.
The directions are pretty simple and are posted behind the cash register. “Grab a Cup, Swirl and Top, Weigh and Pay.” So first things first, grab a cup. There is a wide selection of frozen yogurt to choose from. Don’t know what a flavor taste like? Ask a worker to try a sample. After choosing a flavor put as much yogurt as you want in the cup but, remember it charges by the ounce. Toppings are no issue either. Right behind the dispenser is a huge topping bar equipped with everything one might dream to put on a dessert. After that it’s time to weigh and pay, just set the full cup on the scale and the price pops up on the screen. Finally you can eat a delicious one of a kind creation.
Cari a worker at the lounge says it’s a fun job with a great crew and good customers. “Who wouldn’t want to work around frozen yogurt all day,” she says. Cari and her co-worker Jak think their job is awesome, they don’t start super early and they get off with enough time to “hang with their Peps.” With great convenience and a trippy atmosphere who wouldn’t want to go to the Zen-beri desert lounge to hang out, eat great fro-yo and watch the sun dip below the horizon.
