Touring bands rarely come to Madison, so when there’s a show, fans take advantage of it.
A tour package from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Lincoln, Nebraska came to Madison the night of October 30. Expire, from Milwaukee, signed to Bridge 9 Records, and Bent Life, from Nebraska, signed to 6131 Records played at The Multiplex on Wall Triana Highway. Local bands Chained from Nashville and Belial from Madison played as well.
Every band put on a show with energy and had great connection with the crowd. The turnout was great. Attendance was good for a school night, and the booker of the show made more than enough revenue to pay the touring bands sufficient gas money to be able to make it to their next date of the tour.
“I’m normally not into this style of music, but going to a show is different. There’s so much energy and intensity that you can’t not enjoy yourself,” said Blaythe Steuer, an audience member.
The headlining band, Expire, had the most crowd interaction. “Everything to lose, and nothing all the same. Do I leave a legacy? Or do they forget my name? Way too much to chew, for what is now just a thought/hold tight and brace myself, for the day that it is not” is a line from their song “Just Fine.”
Amazing touring packages do not come to Madison often, but the few times they do, fans are sure to enjoy themselves.
