There aren’t too many movies that you can watch with your entire family. If you are looking for a fun movie that does not make you cringe around your parents and younger siblings, the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 might be for you.

It’s an animated film that has enough plot and enough laughs to satisfy people of all ages.

The first movie is about Flint Lockwood, a scientist. He developed a machine that makes food fall from the sky. People could request any food they liked.

Then, the machine started to malfunction. It caused a downpour of food falling incessantly from the sky. To make matters worse, the food started getting larger and larger. Flint decided to destroy his machine… or so he thought.

He failed in destroying the machine. The second movie is based upon this fact.

Flint’s idol, Chester V., came to the town and hired him. Chester said he was just going to clean up the island, so he made everyone leave while he cleaned it up. However, Chester has other motives, and this drives the rest of the story.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a rating of 59%, but 70% of the audience liked it.

Eric Eisenberg from cinemablend.com said,  “As a sequel, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 doesn’t fully stack up to the original, but it’s impressive just how close it actually gets.”
