Huntsville’s First Ever Comic Con!
February 9, 2017
Lowe Mill is partnering with SuperPowered Studios to host the first ever Huntsville Comic Convention this Friday and Saturday, February 10th and 11th and Huntsville-area residents are ecstatic.
Cosplayer and avid fan of the conventions Jessica Umphrey said, “It’s the first [Comic Con] too. I’m excited to say I went to the first one ever!”
The convention will include many events, such as Space Exploration Friday, a 4,000 ft. gaming room, a Sailor Moon concert, and a cosplay contest.
“I’m excited to see who shows up from the cosplay community because I think it will show how big this con could become in the future,” Jessica stated. “I mean, how exciting would it be for Huntsville to have its own Dragoncon-type con?!”
Special guests include several Marvel and DC comic artists such as Drew Gareci and Andy Troy, professional cosplayer and makeup artist Miracole Burns, Sailor Moon’s Jennifer Chihi, and the Walking Dead’s “Bicycle Girl” Melissa Cowan.
LCA student Haleigh Davis said, “Looking forward to meeting some of the special guests, and cannot wait until the weekend.”
