The Chick Has Arrived

The Chick Has Arrived

Reed Player, Writer

The Chick is here, and it’s cluckin’ great.

If you’re interested in trying it out, Chicken Salad Chick is open for lunch and dinner everyday but Sunday. It’s located across from TJ Maxx on Highway 72.

Originally, Chicken Salad Chick was founded in 2008 by Stacy Brown, where she built her first restaurant in Auburn. It’s fast, casual, and delicious. I am a current employee at the new location, and I have been fortunate enough to be allowed to try all of the flavors at least once. They’re all so good it’s practically impossible to choose a favorite.

There are definitely some flavors out of the 15 that sell better than others. Being the one in the back preparing all of the food, I know what sells the most. Four flavors that sell the most are the Classic Carol, Fancy Nancy, Cranberry Kelli, and Sassy Scotty– all named after people that have helped the founder, Stacy, make everything possible. The Classic Carol is the base of all of the flavors of chicken salad. It has all white meat shredded chicken, finely minced celery, mayonnaise, and out “Secret Seasoning.” I know the celery may turn some of you off, but it’s been minced so finely you can’t even tell it’s in there. The Fancy Nancy has small cut apples, red and white seedless grapes, and pecans. The Cranberry Kelli has dried cranberries and almonds. The Sassy Scotty has ranch, bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Ethan Worcester, junior, said, “The food is really good, but the downside of it is that it’s pricey.”

In my opinion, this is an amazing first job. It pays well, and if you show you actually want to work, they will give you the hours you want. The work environment is fun, clean, and safe. Most of my coworkers are in the age range from 16 to 20. There are some younger and older, but I enjoy working no matter who is there that day. If you’re interested in a job or some great food, come see us at Chicken Salad Chick.
