We’re in the Endgame Now…

Early Thursday morning, Marvel Studios dropped the second trailer for the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame. The details have been vague on what the 22nd entry the MCU may hold. Fans have dissected every piece of leaked concept art, toy reveal, and advertisement to guess what the film may have in store.

Following the decimation brought by Thanos’ snap, the remaining Avengers struggle to find a sense of order when half of their team (and the universe) turns to dust. The original six Avengers, along with War Machine, Ant-Man, Rocket Raccoon, Nebula, Okoye, and newcomer Captain Marvel will all team up to take down the Mad Titan, once and for all. Valkyrie (of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok) is also set to join the team based on this toy leak from January.

Endgame encapsulates everything that makes Marvel different from its comic competitors: its humanity. It is the super-beings’ incredible characterization that provides the film’s narrative. Like 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame appears to follow the characters’ perspectives, rather than the traditional hero’s journey. This welcome change allows Marvel’s audience to resonate with their characters on a deeper level, thus bringing a larger reaction to the high stakes of Thanos’ upheaval.

The colossal blockbuster is set to break countless box office records upon its release. The film’s predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War became the fourth highest grossing film of all time. The loyal fan base will flock to theaters to see how this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes to a close and to see what the next chapter has in store.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 26th.
