It Chapter Two
Andrés Muschietti directed the movie. Mushchietti based the movie off of a screenplay that Gary Dauberman wrote. Dauberman based it off Stephen King’s novel. Atomic Arts and Method Studios provided the visuals and effects. The casting in IT Chapter Two is spot on. Even critics agree on that. Bill Skarsgard’s performance as Pennywise leaves you spooked. Bill Hardy as Richie Tozier also left a favorable impression on many.
IT Chapter Two is a horror/supernatural movie, though some say that the movie is too comedic to have its desired effect on the audience. Critics say that the routines and scares are weaker compared to its predecessor. Others say that the movie has the perfect balance of comedy. The grim humor expresses the constant fear of death looming over the Loser’s shoulders.
In the book, the scenes are more gruesome. Details that aren’t in the movie that are mentioned in the book are briefer, making the viewer believe that you should read the book to understand the gravity of the situation. Yet, the movie has stuck with the original plot of the movie, which is very admirable compared to others. The movie draws out for about three hours, plenty of time to include many fine details, but maybe a touch too long.
Though critics and enthusiasts will talk, IT Chapter Two is a compelling movie.
