Awesome Autumn Activities!

Grace Sanders, Contributor

As we pass through the summer season and into fall the list of activities we can do such as swimming in pools and having water balloon fights grows shorter, the list of fall festivities grows. Most people’s favorite season is fall and I have to agree! Hayrides and haunted houses, carving pumpkins, and making delicious apple-filled treats. Halloween and Thanksgiving are quickly approaching along with the yellow and gold leaves. Make sure corn mazes are on your list of things to do. They are a fun way to get outside and getting lost in the maze is the most fun part! There are many corn mazes to find in north Alabama.

A farm in Lauderdale county has a 4.6-star review and offers a restaurant that the reviews say is “delicious.” The Belue Place also has a pumpkin patch and pavilions to host a party or wedding. The corn maze is huge and winding. Admission is free and the scenic country views are worth the drive.

Another one in Cullman county is called 4D Farm. It is said to have a huge corn maze and you can buy season passes or just get general admission, though the general does not include the mechanical bull, gem mine, pumpkins, and the corn cannon. General admission for a weekday is $12.95 online and at the gate, it is $14.95. On the weekdays the online fee is $16.95 and at the gate, $19.95.

One last farm, from Gadsden Alabama, called the Sand Mountain Corn Maze hosts a hayride, corn pit and pumpkin patch,  giant yellow chair to take pictures in, a corn maze, and a Zombie Attraction to enjoy. Its 4.4-star review precedes it and hosts a number of fall festivities. This fall season they are adding fresh donuts to their snack stand so “come hungry!” This trip can cost $1 to $30 depending on how much food you want to eat!

There are many more farms and fun fall places to visit. May your fall season be full of good food and fun with those close to you!
