We should all have our favorite video game(s) by now. You’re probably here to see if yours is currently in the top. Each game, unless a cheap bootleg, varies in such a unique way that gives you plenty of options to choose from and to have all the fun you need. It could be a horror game, combat, open world, puzzle, rhythm, building, etc. Let’s see, according to the survey and some research, which game wins gold.

In third place with bronze, we have Animal Crossing: New Horizons! This is a game where you’re a human customizing an island that’s populated with anthropomorphic animals while you’re trying to pay off your mortgage. Elise Adams claimed, “It’s very calming and the rendering is very appealing.” Also, Katee Dalton said, “I like how ‘open ended’ it is, if that makes sense. There aren’t any rules and I can do whatever I want whenever I want.” Mortgage seems fun!

In second place with silver, we have Overwatch and Apex Legends! Both are really popular games where you pick your heroes and battle others. Overwatch is a first-person shooter where you’re assigned in a team of six and you select a hero with special abilities. Apex Legends is a battle royale where you’re assigned in a team of three and you select a “Legend” with distinctive abilities. Very different sounding games, don’t you think? Ethan McConnell said, “[It’s] because I like their gameplay styles.”

In first place with shiny, shiny gold, we have Minecraft! Who would’ve guessed? This is a classic, nostalgic, and entertaining game considered to be the best. You start off in an open world with many biomes you have to survive in (unless in creative mode) with many adventures awaiting, also, you can build and manipulate whatever you want! Only the sky and bedrock layer is the limit. Artem Starenki stated, “[It’s a] generic video game and impossible to hate unless you do.”

Now, I’ll just be crying about how my favorite game wasn’t mentioned in the survey. My favorite game that I personally think deserves a prize greater than gold is Terraria. Most people have only heard of it, but it’s the best one out there.
