Pumpkins, Hay rides, flowers. When fall comes around, Tate Farms never disappoints. Decor is everywhere, including a house made out of pumpkins (a perfect place to take pictures). There are also hay bales painted as bees, a gumball machine, a turkey, and even an American flag. With crowds of people visiting each day, Tate Farms is one of the most popular Pumpkin Patches in Huntsville.
At Tate Farms, one of the best things to do is to take a hayride down to the pumpkin patches. There are many selections of pumpkins in all different shapes and sizes. They have regular pumpkins to pick as well as some of their heirloom pumpkins and also long, skinny pumpkins. The long ones are used to cook/make all of their food and treats that contain pumpkin, as they contain smaller fibers and are easier to use. There are also some pumpkins already picked for sale near the front, if you do not want to go to the patches. These pumpkins are around $1-10.
You can also enjoy all of the other attractions. Some fan favorites are apple cannons, bouncy areas, slides, and petting zoos. At the apple cannons, you can buy apples to shoot them at targets. The bouncy areas are great places for people of all ages. Grab a sack and climb up some stairs to go down a big slide. At night these two slides are lit up with big red, white, and blue stars. At the petting areas, there are multiple bunnies and goats to pet. You may also look at the ponies they have. After you’re done spending time with the animals, there are hand sanitizer stations for you to use.
There are many other things to do there. There are karts to race in around a track, multiple playground sets, 4 corn pits, and tire swings. Don’t forget to try out the food! There are great choices with food trucks and mini concession stands. Once you have your food, find a good place to sit at the picnic tables found all around the farm. Even if you’re not there for all the attractions, it also has views of the cotton fields, the silos, and fields of pumpkins. Overall, Tate Farms is a wonderful place to visit during the fall season!
