Halloween is right around the corner! This holiday is celebrated every year on October 31st, which tends to be a super exciting time of the year, generally being that it is full of a wide variety of thrilling events. From spooky haunted houses that will most definitely send chills down your spine to costume parties where you could possibly have a chance to win an exciting prize, there’s always something for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of our students’ favorite Halloween events.
One of the big Halloween events consists of making and wearing costumes as well as competing in contests. “I love going around and seeing everyone dressed up as different characters and also getting to show my competitive side,” exclaimed Prisha Pahwa, a junior at Bob Jones High School. In general, costume contests are a great way to show off your creativity and get into the Halloween spirit. Whether you prefer to look spooky and scary or funny and sweet, a contest will allow you to compete against fellow friends and family.
Another fun event that seems to be popular is pumpkin patches.”My family and I love to go to pumpkin patches and take pictures with our pumpkin choices,” shared Brynn Fenton, a freshman at Bob Jones High School. Pumpkin patches are a great time to wander through patches of fields with pumpkins ranging from sizes small to large in search of the perfect one to carve. Overall, pumpkin patches make for a fun family outing.
Lastly, haunted houses are another pretty popular event. “Haunted houses are my favorite event to participate in because I love all of the scary aspects and how they get my heart racing,” explained Aubrianna Maxwell, a junior at Bob Jones High School. This classic Halloween event, which has been around since about 1915, gives children as well as adults a chance to walk through a carefully planned course. Witches, clowns, and other creepy creatures can jump out and chase you around, giving one quite a fright. Additionally, this is a great way to feel the excitement of Halloween.
In conclusion, you should try to attend at least one event this Halloween season because if not, you’re really missing out on all of the fun! So much to do and so little time to do it…
