A brand new Five Guys recently opened up in the Clift arms area!
We came a little after five o’clock, it wasn’t super busy when we showed up. It started to get busy after we ordered, but the employees did a good job of keeping up with everyone.
There were containers of roasted peanuts for customers to enjoy for free while they wait for their order. The food was finished quickly, especially for four orders (me and my family). It took around five minutes, and most of us ordered bacon as well. As for drinks, there was a sweet tea dispenser and, just like other Five Guys, two Coca-Cola Freestyle drink machines. One of the machines was working well, but the other one was out of ice. The indoor eating area was spacious, with lots of tables, and the outdoor eating space was in a nice little area off to the side. Inside, there were regular tables and high-top tables. There were tables for 8, 6, 4, and 2 people, so there’s pretty much something for everyone. Outside, there were only tables of 4 and 2, so you might need to pull up a chair, or split between two tables if you have more people. The bathrooms were pretty clean, but they were small. As I was leaving the bathroom, someone was going in to clean it, so it’s obvious that it’s pretty well maintained.
The fries were super crispy and fresh. They were hot and had plenty of salt. The burgers were also great, but I have to say the fries were better. The burger patties were perfectly cooked, and the lettuce and vegetables were extremely fresh and crisp. We also ordered the cajun fries, and they were just as fresh as the regular fries. The cajun seasoning added a nice spice to the fries, while also providing lots of flavor. The burger buns were ever so slightly doughy, but I think Five Guys just orders them from somewhere else. The counter area for lids, straws, condiments, etc. was kind of small, but still had everything you would normally see at a Five Guys. They had forks, knives, spoons, straws, and ketchup dispensers. They even had salt and pepper packets, along with sugar and artificial sweeteners. There weren’t any napkins, but they give you plenty with your order.
As for the price, it was around $70 dollars for four orders, including 5 drinks and two orders of fries. I think you get what you’re paying for, although it could be cheaper. They need to make a profit somehow, and all their ingredients are fresh and of good quality. One note of warning, though, they have open containers of peanuts in the restaurant, and they fry the fries in peanut oil, so I wouldn’t eat here if you’re allergic.
I would give this Five Guys 4.5 stars. I took off half a star for all the little things (like no ice in one of the drink machines). I don’t think it would be fair to take off a whole star, as the staff definitely work hard to keep up with all the customers, and they were servicing the soda machine as we left. You can always see someone wiping off tables, even if no one had been sitting at them.
In conclusion, I definitely think you should give this particular Five Guys a try!
