Christmas is right around the corner and with gift buying and tree decorating, there has to be gifts included! According to WordsRated, “Almost 12% of all book sales during a year occur within a few days around Christmas.” Most of these book categories fall into children’s books.
We put out a poll for the students of Bob Jones to find out what their favorite childhood Christmas books were! Results are shared below:
The most liked Christmas book is “It’s Christmas, David!” This book is about a kid, David, who is in a house filled with all sorts of Christmas joy! Some stuff being candy canes and Christmas cookies, or his favorite, the gifts! David has a hard time being nice when all of those things are around, so he gets into a bit of trouble.
Runner-up would be “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” a classic story, where the Grinch who hates the holidays makes it his mission to take away Christmas from the residents of Whoville! As he’s preparing to set up and leave with everything, a little girl stops him and teaches him the true value of Christmas: to give.
We had 4 books that all tied, those being, “Pete the Cat: 12 Groovy Days of Christmas,” “Elf on the Shelf,” “The Polar Express,” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” All of these books are great stories for children to read to get into the Christmas spirit!
During the Christmas holidays, try to make sure to read one or two Christmas books! Imagine taking a break and sitting in front of the fireplace wrapped up in a blanket while drinking hot chocolate, all while reading a fun Christmas story.
Happy Holidays, y’all!
