This just might be Netflix’s biggest year of releases, with many exciting and popular films making their way to the big screen! Netflix released a promo this week on their social platforms showcasing many of their upcoming releases this year. The video was very well made and follows a woman “jumping” through each of the settings of these new movies and shows. I highly recommend watching it, I’ve linked it here.
Many of their videos and posts keep pushing the phrase, “You’re not ready for what’s next,” which, I don’t know about you, is getting me extremely excited! Some of the highlights they are pushing are the final seasons of Stranger Things and Squid Game, the returns of Wednesday, Benoit Blanc, Happy Gilmore, and, “Not to mention The Witcher, Love is Blind, Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris, Alice in Borderland and so, so much more.”
Netflix has a large variety of entertainment, as it’s the largest streaming service in the world. It’s entertaining millions of people in over 190 countries and 50 languages! They have a lot of people to impress. So, I am happy to introduce these releases!
The Big Three
Netflix’s three series, the most popular around the globe, will be returning this year: Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Squid Game! The famous show’s final season featuring Millie Bobby Brown does not have an official release date as of yet, but Squid Game Season 3 will be released on June 27! Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, also lacks an official date, but we know it will be in late 2025.
Highly Anticipated Movies
It seems that Netflix is jamming many long-awaited sequels or new additions into just 2025. A couple that are going to be returning are Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery in late 2025 and Happy Gilmore 2 supposedly in July. A new addition, but one that has been racking up some popularity, the classic Frankenstein! With Oscar Isaac starring as Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as The Monster, it’s sure to be a fun watch!
There are so many exciting things coming this year, but we need to make sure to enjoy it because these jam-packed releases prove to be an issue for 2026. With so many final seasons and movies, many of Netflix’s top media will be breathing its last breath this year. What will come of the shows and movies next year? Will new shows begin that will be just as great and intriguing as these past few years? They are all interesting questions, but we don’t need to deal with them right now. Let’s enjoy 2025 while we have it!
This is going to be an exciting year, so let’s be ready! (Get it? Cause’ the motto is like “you’re not ready?” Ha..ha…)
