Ever fallen in “love” and had it end with you hoping the other person gets pushed into the shaft of an erupting volcano, vaporizing their flesh to the point of ash? No?
“Anatomy of a Boyfriend” is a novel by Daria Snadowsky which chronicles the taxing trials of first love, graduation, long distance relationships, break-ups, and the most awkward of all: sex.
Some of the book was hard to get through, personally. Snadowsky made up for it with realistic conversations between the two love birds, where I would even hear myself saying “I would do the exact same thing.”
Snadowsky stated in an email, that the protagonist, Dominique, is a melting pot of herself, people she knows, and pure imagination. On the other hand, the males in the book are completely made up, even though some of them portray characteristics of her past boyfriends.
“I don’t think I could have written about the roller coaster of first love had I not been through the rigmarole myself. The crazy feelings you have when you’re in love are very difficult to identify with, let alone write about, without personal experience,” said the author.
Whether you are madly in love with your significant other, or that piece of cake that has been calling your name in the fridge, there is always someone out there that is looking for you.
