The movie has grossed over $220,166,000 worldwide, earning $41.5 million during its debut weekend. This broke The Purge‘s previous record as the biggest opening for an original R-rated horror film.
Rotten Tomatoes critiqued it at 86% and a 7.2/10, describing it as “well-crafted and gleefully creepy, The Conjuring ratchets up dread through a series of effective old-school scares.”
The Conjuring is a melting pot of every horror film you’ve ever seen. Filled with suspense and terror, it will have your heart racing and spine tingling.
Personally, I have seen the movie twice. The first time, almost sending me out of the theater, had me convinced that it was by far the best scary movie I have ever watched. The second time still had me holding my breath and covering my eyes in horror.
