After being left for dead on a deserted planet, Riddick, played by Vin Diesel, must fight to survive in this “eat or be eaten” world to which he has been banished. Labeled as a murderer, Riddick has a bounty on his head. After he activates an emergency beacon, two ships arrive with bounty hunters and mercenaries on board. Everyone is trying to kill him. Can Riddick survive and make it back to his home planet, Furya?
With a 40 million dollar budget, director, David Twohy, created an entertaining movie. With over two hundred crew members working on the visual and special effects alone, Riddick generates an outstanding visual performance. This movie is the third movie in the Riddick trilogy. Pitch Black (2000) was the first installment of the series, and The Chronicles Of Riddick (2004) was the second.
Stars like Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, and Katee Sackhoff acted fantastically to make this movie great. I don’t think you could find a better candidate to play the roll of Riddick. Vin Diesel had all the ingredients needed to play his part: he looked, sounded, and acted as well as anybody could expect.
This movie was action-filled until the very end, but some parts were very gory. The movie included nudity, and profanity was rampant throughout the film. However, gore, nudity, and profanity are to be expected in an R-rated production.
Seeing this movie made me want to watch the other movies in the trilogy. If you’re looking for a movie that’ll leave you satisfied until it ends, watch Riddick.
Overall, Riddick was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone that loves action, great special effects, superb acting, and intriguing plots. Honestly, who doesn’t love a movie with all these things?
