According to amazingribs.com, there is evidence of humans in the Carmel area of Israel, eating barbecue around 200,000 years ago, in the form of cattle, deer, and boars. Today, D’licious Dining Smokehouse and Smokehouse Grill serves some delicious barbecue in the Huntsville area of Alabama in the form of pork and chicken.
D’licious Dining is located at 255 Pratt Avenue in Huntsville. The oddly shaped building has a retro style and shape to it. There are lots of vintage records, framed photos of famous musicians and posters of past tours that those musicians have been on. There is even a pinball machine suspended high up against the wall.
Sometimes, the restaurant even has live musicians play there. There have been a few soft acts who play while people eat, and a few times they have even closed the restaurant and had full on loud shows.
They serve everything from burgers to Jamaican jerk chicken to fried fish. They, also, have a number of sides to choose from.
The pulled pork sandwich tasted incredible. The sauce was sweet, the pork was tender, the bread was crunchy and the coleslaw provided a nice contrast to the meat. Although it was delicious, it was not very big. I ordered a side of fries with it, and they filled me up more than the sandwich did.
The chicken plate was also delicious, but quite different from the pulled pork sandwich. The sauce on the sandwich was thick and sweet, whereas the sauce on the chicken was liquidy and spicy. A baked potato came with this plate, and in this case, the main course was definitely more filling than the side, even though the side was still quite good.
Overall, D’licious Dining was a d’lightful experience and it is highly recommended.
