The Phone Valet is a new business geared toward teenagers, more specifically, high school students with cell phones.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a New York City schools system recently banned cell phones in school because of abuse. Like true business men, a company called The Phone Valet decided to use this opportunity to their advantage. This company started showing up in trucks at the local schools. The students pay for a service that allows this company to not only watch the teen’s phones but also to charge them while school is in session. When school ends for the day, the high school kids get their phones back from the phone valets and bring them home.
Some may think this is waste of money, but apparently not the kids in the New York City schools system. This business has skyrocketed.
Bob Jones student Sean Sheil, on the other hand, states, “This is a waste of money when you can leave your phone at home on the charger all day until you get back.”
Would you pay for a service like this? Hopefully, Bob Jones won’t have their cell phone privileges yanked, and there won’t be any need for a business like this in Madison.
